The Flowers Heritage Foundation was established by the Flowers family and is an outgrowth of their belief in giving back to the communities they serve. Sylester Flowers has fostered these values through the everyday work and contributions of Ramsell Holding Corporation, which he began in 1967 as a single pharmacy in East Oakland, California.

Today, each of the five Ramsell business units contributes a portion of their profits to the Foundation so that 100% of donor dollars can go directly to programs. Public Health Service Bureau, one of the largest units, provides pharmacy benefits administration and data management services for the public healthcare market and is currently serving over 30,000 patients in AIDS Drug Assistance Programs in California and Washington. Other business units include Purely Personal, providing high quality, low cost condoms to health service organizations; The Apothecary, operating pharmacies in disadvantaged communities; Alta Tierra Properties, a real estate investment and management company; and Ramsell IT, which provides technology solutions and consulting.
